Slovenia has three distinct climate types: continental, Alpine and sub-Mediterranean. A good part of the country, including Ljubljana, is characterised by a typical European continental climate with warm, dry summers and fairly cold winters, while the coastal areas and the lowlands in the south have a milder climate. Ljubljana is a wheelchair-friendly city for persons with disabilities – you can access almost every part of the city with a wheelchair. The city is covered in cycling paths, which means there is no need to hop on and off the pavements.
