Slovenia has three distinct climate types: continental, Alpine and sub-Mediterranean. A good part of the country, including Ljubljana, is characterised by a typical European continental climate with warm, dry summers and fairly cold winters, while the coastal areas and the lowlands in the south have a milder climate. Average temperatures: July 21°C, January 0°C.

Electricity

Slovenia uses the so-called European plug with the official designation CEE 7/16. This is the plug with two round pins used in most other European countries.

Potable Water

Ljubljana is a city which can be proud of its clean drinking water. Also elsewhere in Slovenia, tap water is of good quality and suitable for drinking.

Wheelchair Accessibility

Ljubljana is a wheelchair-friendly city for persons with disabilities – you can access almost every part of the city with a wheelchair. The city is covered in cycling paths, which means there is no need to hop on and off the pavements.

The WiFree Ljubljana wireless network allows visitors to Ljubljana city centre to use free wireless internet for up to 60 minutes a day.

Wireless access to the websites owned by the City Municipality of Ljubljana, including the Visit Ljubljana tourist website, through the WiFree Ljubljana network is free for everyone for an unlimited period of time.
